Joe’s Random Movie Trivia: “Sin City” (2004)

In the film, Marv refers to his pistol as “Gladys”. We find out why he calls it Gladys in the graphic novel “The Hard Goodbye” and the Extended Version of the film. In a scene where Marv sneaks into his mother’s apartment to get his gun, he explains in the narration that he named the gun after one of the nuns who taught him at school. And that the gun has, “almost lived up to the name”.

There is a very popular fan theory that Deckard (Harrison Ford) is in fact a Replicant. While there is no actual evidence to support this, if you pause the film at this particular scene, even though he’s out of focus, you can see his eyes glow the same way as the Replicants.


Joe’s Random Movie Trivia: “The Usual Suspects” (1995)


There is a clue regarding the villain Keyser Sozë’s identity in the meaning of his name.
Keyser, or ‘kaiser’, is German for “king”.
Sozë is a Turkish word that means “Talk too much”.
So the name Keyser Sozë literally means “The King who talks too much.”


Joe’s Random Movie Trivia: “Se7en” (seven)


The actor who plays the film’s serial killer ‘john doe’ requested to remain uncredited until the final credits at the end of the movie. He is a very popular actor, and didn’t what the audience members looking for him to appear until Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt’s characters encounter him at the end of the film.
